The Designer Showhouse of Westchester - Part 1

In the midst of May Madness, a stunning home in the heart of one of the very best towns in Westchester gets taken over by an amazing group of very talented interior designers.

The Third Annual Designer Showhouse of Westchester, which benefits "Cerebral Palsy of Westchester" opened to the public on May 2nd and is open till Sunday, June 9th, 2013 and a trip to visit the magnificent 1915 mansion on 2 Cooper Road in Scarsdale, New York is a must for anyone that adores Design!

Gideon Mendelson took on the Entry foyer which came with this beautiful vintage Gracie Wallpaper, and in Gatsby spirit, turned it into a comfortable "cocktail hour" lounge with direct access to the beautiful gardens outside.

Ken Gemes had a great Living Room space to work with, however much work was needed to restore the original ceiling and details on the fireplace, windows and throughout the room.

Carey Karlan added a touch of femininity to the Ladies Sitting Room with custom Venetian Plaster walls inlaid with mother of pearl and jewel encrusted drapery all of set by the touch of pink in the fireplace.
Glass, lucite and soft lush rugs by JD Staron bring the entire scheme together.

The calm tones in the Breakfast Room, by Kim Freeman, are juxtaposed by the

whimsical and colorful approach the Butler's Pantry by Maggie McManus, with soft mint green tiles with pops of orange throughout.
