We are thrilled to share with you another interior design project that was recently included in the Andrew Martin Interior Design Review, as well as on CURBED NY.
This Manhattan apartment began with an intensive interior renovation, making the most of the existing space to both accommodate our clients existing Mid Century furniture and art as well as the need to provide them with multi-functional spaces as with most enjoying a New York life.
With a soft neutral palette, we focused on texture rather than pattern in this Master Bedroom, by utilizing various tones of lavender and shimmery gray. Dark wood finishes in both the custom Thomas Pheasant for Baker Furniture bed as well as this pair of Mid Century arm chairs help bring warmth, while the gold tones echoed in the Dorothy Drapery mirrors and bedside tables just that final touch of shimmer against the silver grass cloth.
Each item helps draw your eye to the stunning views overlooking the Hudson River, and provide a much appreciated sense of serenity to escape to for the homeowners at the end of each day.
The final touch was this custom area rug from Stark which was cut to size and hand sewn on site in order to maximize every inch of this large hexagonal shaped bedroom.
My belief is to bring custom tailored design to each and every one of our clients, rather than impose our own design doctrine and style.
Through Mehditash Design, it gives me great pride to be able to say that we have been doing just that since 1999, in both Europe and across the United States.
