For the past 6 years, Holiday House has showcased many leading designers and brought much needed awareness and support to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF), founded by Evelyn Lauder in 1993. Iris Dankner, a 17 year survivor and interior designer, established this event in the hopes to do just that and has been leading the charge with this event, and with this year's Holiday House Hamptons as well.
Many of these rooms, I am sure you remember from right here on the blog! (Holiday House 2011, Holiday House 2012, ..)

One other designer, showcasing how MUCH can be done and done well in a New York Style small space was Patrick J Hamilton of the blog, Ask Patrick.

I begin my tour with rooms designed by fellow interior designer and bloggers with whom I have had the pleasure to get to know well over the years - Sarah Sarna and Tina Ramchandani of Franklin Eighth... and Patrick J Hamilton.
Tina & Sarah designed one of the spaces on the main floor just off the entry. As a small lounge area before the powder room, this space has great light and architectural details which they both used to their advantage while creating this warm monochromatic environment.
In their Jazz Appreciation Month inspired room and using one of my favorite wallcoverings, Feather Fan by Cole & Son through Lee Jofa, they were able to create layers of pattern and texture while maintaining their color palette but simply alternating the patterns.
Mixtures of angular motifs and sensual curves, nodding to the Art Deco style, all work seamlessly in this space.

Celebrating a very apropos St Patrick's Day, Patrick delighted in rich emerald greens.
As he explained to me in the space, he enjoys really playing with dark colors and using a tone on tone color palette especially in small rooms, which he does here so successfully.
The custom wood panelling.. with a hint of the four leaf clover one would hope to find on this day, and introducing warm wood tones through a very cohesive mix of modern and antique pieces of furniture and art.
Congratulations to both these designers, and all participating in this year's showhouse.
More to come on the blog, but do make sure to visit as it is only open through December 18th.
